5 days in morocco from Marrakech to Merzouga

We will leave Marrakech and travel to Merzouga over the course of five days. Our driver-guide will pick you up from the towns along the route after breakfast is served. The well-known village of Ait Ben Haddou is the first destination on the itinerary.

Ait Ben Haddou is a berber fortified Kasbah that served as the shooting location for many well-known movies, including Gladiator (2000), Alexandre (2004), Lawrence Darabie (1962), and Kingdom of Heaven (2005).

You will visit the beautiful Dades Valley, where you will get a brief glimpse of Kasbahs, before traveling to the Hollywood of Africa to see the Ouarzazate studio and the Kasbah of Taourirte. After that, you will stay at our hotel.

We will leave the Dades Valley and go toward the Sahara desert after breakfast. As we travel through the narrow, gorgeous gorges along our route, we will be treated to sweeping views of Morocco's largest valley of palm trees.

We'll make a midday stop at one of the neighborhood restaurants for lunch. There's a palm-lined trail that leads to Merzouga's vast Sahara desert. We will spend the night in the desert in Merzouga and get ready for a trip on a camel to Berber tents that are tucked away amid the dunes and provide a stunning view.

After that, you will arrive at the camp and spend the night in the Berber tent after taking a shower. so that you may explore the region on your own by walking barefoot on the smooth beach. Dinner will be a delicious, freshly prepared Berber meal.

Dinner and breakfast will be followed by a Berber music and dance performance on the rooftops. You must unwind since the next day will be quite hectic.

A 4x4 safari into the Sahara will take place after breakfast, allowing you to discover its hidden wonders. Intense driving over expansive dunes awaits you on the RALLY DAKAR track.

After that, you'll have tea with a nomad family. After that, you'll be driven to the KHAMLIYA settlement. The little town of Khamliya is located close to the heart of Merzouga. Slaves who were brought here during the time of slavery make up the majority of the population.

It is also considered the cornerstone of Gnaoua musical tradition. You may hear Gnaoua music in this little town. The Srij Lake will be your next stop. The seasons dictate when this body of water is at its most visible.

You may find it on the borders of the golden dunes of Merzouga. Those birds who are making their way from Europe to southern Africa stop over here. Our lunch will be a Berber pizza sampler at a nearby restaurant.

After lunch, you're free to do as you choose. Before nightfall, you will be led to a camel park to start your camel ride to the desert oasis tent. While traveling to your campsite, you will stop in the midst of the expansive dunes to see the setting sun. Afterwards, you will continue your caravan journey to your campsite. You will feel like a real nomad in our camp.

Every amenity imaginable is available at this campground. Delicious, home-cooked regional dishes are available. After dinner, you and the nomads will be dancing, singing, and telling riddles under the starry sky. (before and after work)

To see the morning, capture images, and eat breakfast, we will rise early. After a refreshing shower and a camel ride back to the hotel, we'll set out for Bomalne Dades, passing via Rissani (the date capital), Alnif hamlet, Tazarine tower, Nekoub's Kasbahs, and the Draa valley.

Afterwards, we will go to Ouarzazate via the Anti Atlas Mountains to see Kasbah Taourirte and Studio. Then, we will have dinner and breakfast at the hotel.

As of this day, several films, including Lawrence Darabie (1962), Bandits (1981), Gladiator (2000), Alexandre (2004), Kingdom of Heaven (2005), and others, were filmed in the renowned village of Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, which we will pass through on our way from Ouarzazat to Marrakech after breakfast.

Our 5 days adventure comes to a close in Marrakech after you cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi Ntichka Valley.
